Why couples choose lab-grown
- They are real diamonds. Lab-grown diamonds have the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and sparkle as mined diamonds. Telling them apart takes specialized lab equipment.
- More diamond for your budget. A lab-grown diamond usually costs a fraction of a natural diamond of the same size and quality, so many couples choose a larger center stone or a higher grade.

How we design your lab-grown ring
- Free video consult. Talk with Alyssa about the shape, setting and budget you have in mind. Screenshots and Pinterest boards help, but you don't need a finished idea.
- Proposal and sketch. We send a proposal with a preliminary design sketch.
- Diamond sourcing. After your 50% deposit, Alain finds lab-grown diamonds that fit your budget and shows you the options worth considering, with their certificates.
- 3D design. You approve a detailed 3D design of your ring before it goes into production, with revisions if you want them.
- Finished and shipped. You see final videos of your ring before paying the balance, and we ship it insured via FedEx. Most rings are finished in 4–6 weeks from your deposit.
What a custom lab-grown ring costs
Custom projects start at $3,000, and most engagement rings we design fall between $4,000 and $6,000. With a lab-grown center stone, the same budget usually goes further, so the main choices are the size and shape of your diamond, the metal and how detailed the setting is.

Lab-grown or natural?
We work with both IGI-certified lab-grown and GIA-certified natural diamonds, and we don't push one over the other. If you're still deciding, read our lab-grown vs natural comparison or ask Alyssa on your consult. On our estimate form, choose "Not sure, quote both" and we'll price both.
Lab-grown engagement ring FAQs
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. They have the same chemical makeup, crystal structure and hardness as mined diamonds. The only difference is where they formed.
Will a lab-grown diamond test as a diamond?
Yes. Standard diamond testers read lab-grown diamonds as diamond. Identifying lab origin takes specialized equipment, and your grading report states that the stone is lab-grown.
Do lab-grown diamonds hold their value?
Lab-grown diamonds have limited resale value, and their prices have dropped over the last few years. Choose one because you love the ring and the size it gets you, not as an investment.
What certificate comes with my diamond?
Lab-grown center stones we source come with an IGI grading report. Natural diamonds come with a GIA report.
How long does a custom lab-grown ring take?
Most rings are finished in about 4–6 weeks from your deposit. If you have a proposal date, we recommend reaching out 8–10 weeks before it.
Do you work with clients outside California?
Yes. The whole process happens over video and messages, and we ship insured via FedEx anywhere, including internationally.
